Welcome,
Hartland Voters (HV) was established in 2024 after a group of like-minded citizens, who had been meeting on a regular basis, decided they wanted to help make a difference in our community and in the 2024 Election. The goal in forming HV was to increase citizen awareness of their voting rights and options, to educate the public regarding policy positions of local officeholders, and to encourage citizen involvement at a local level.
Core Principles
The core principles of Hartland Voters are God, family, and community. Therefore, understanding the importance of local officeholders in this regard, Hartland Voters represents a coalition of concerned citizens, elected officials and precinct delegates who work together to protect our God-given and Constitutional rights while keeping family values in the community that we love!
Voting
HV helps Hartland citizens register to vote, if need be, as well as informs them of Michigan’s new early voting. In addition to absentee and in person on Election Day voting, we now have nine days of early in person voting which takes place at Hartland Township Building. Please view that information here ➡️ (election_information_.pages) This is a very important election year so please consider voting in both the Primary and General Elections, and when you vote, make sure to turn your ballot over. There you will find the nonpartisan positions and proposals. For more information please visit the Hartland Township building at 2655 Clark Rd, Hartland, MI or call (810) 632-7498.
Local Level Involvement
HV tries to inspire citizens to get involved at a local level and to consider running for elected office. Since the focus of HV is local, the group focuses on offices which impact the Hartland community. These local offices include Township Board Trustee, School Board Trustee, Library Board Trustee, and County Commissioner. We also focus on State Representative and State Senate. Along with an Endorsed Candidates list, HV also may compile a Recommended Candidates list for races that go beyond the scope of the Endorsement Committee’s vetting process. Truly, everything begins at the local level and we must be engaged!
Policy Positions and Vetting
As a coalition, we seek to understand anyone who desires to represent us and aim to learn what their policy positions are. Therefore, a candidate vetting process is done for current officeholders running for re-election as well as new candidates seeking election. This includes an initial HV questionnaire sent to every candidate. If further information is needed, follow up questions are sent or an in person interview is held.
Endorsements and Support
For candidates that gain Hartland Voters endorsement, the coalition may make phone calls, door knock, and hold events on their behalf to help inform Hartland area voters. As a coalition, we believe it is our responsibility to get involved to help protect our rights and freedoms in our Hartland community by running for elected office or by supporting those that do, in order to help preserve the American dream for future generations!
